2.3 Dataset-related information

When you use the Service, we may process data and metadata associated with uploaded or analyzed datasets, including:

  • file format and file size;
  • schema information;
  • column names and inferred data types;
  • statistical summaries and quality signals;

  • configuration inputs, task intent, and selected analysis options.

Depending on the mode of operation, we may also temporarily process dataset contents to perform the requested analysis.

2.4 Website analytics and similar data

We may collect website usage information through privacy-focused analytics tools or infrastructure providers, such as page views, referring pages, browser details, and other aggregate traffic information.

  • to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability;
  • to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, misuse, or security incidents;
  • to enforce our Terms of Service and other applicable policies;
  • to comply with legal obligations;
  • to improve the Service, provided that we do not use uploaded datasets for model training unless explicitly stated and separately agreed.

4. Dataset Handling

TrustYourData is designed to help users assess whether datasets are ready for AI, machine learning, and related analytical use cases.

4.1 Purpose limitation

Datasets submitted to the Service are processed solely for the purpose of performing the requested analysis, generating reports, and supporting related service functionality.

4.2 No training on user datasets

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement, TrustYourData does not use uploaded user datasets to train foundation models, general-purpose machine learning models, or external commercial AI systems.

4.3 Modes of operation

Depending on the product configuration or feature selected, dataset handling may differ:

  • API or hosted mode: datasets or portions of datasets may be transmitted to and processed on secure infrastructure controlled by us or our service providers for the purpose of generating analysis results;
  • privacy-oriented or local mode: certain analysis steps may occur locally, and only limited metadata, summaries, or derived signals may be transmitted to our systems.

Not all modes may be available at all times.

4.4 User responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and lawful basis to submit data to the Service, including personal data, confidential information, or regulated data.

You should not submit data to the Service if you do not have authority to do so.

5. Data Ownership

Users retain ownership of their datasets and other content submitted to the Service.

This Privacy Policy does not transfer ownership of user data to TrustYourData.

We process user data only as necessary to provide the Service, comply with law, protect the Service, and enforce our rights.

6. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK, where applicable)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction requiring a legal basis for processing, we may process personal data under one or more of the following bases:

  • performance of a contract — to provide the Service you request;
  • legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, analyze, and improve the Service;
  • consent — where you voluntarily provide information for specific purposes, such as joining a waitlist or receiving updates;
  • legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal data.

We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

7.1 Service providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Service, such as:

  • cloud hosting and infrastructure providers;
  • analytics providers;
  • email and communication providers;
  • security and monitoring providers;
  • payment or billing providers, if applicable.

These providers may process information on our behalf under appropriate contractual or operational controls.

7.2 Legal compliance and protection

We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
  • enforce our agreements or policies;
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of TrustYourData, our users, or others;
  • detect or prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues.

7.3 Business transfers

If TrustYourData is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information:

  • waitlist and contact information may be retained for communications, onboarding, and recordkeeping;
  • technical logs and usage metadata may be retained for operational, security, and diagnostic purposes;
  • uploaded datasets may be retained only temporarily, for the duration necessary to perform the requested analysis, unless a longer retention period is required for service functionality, troubleshooting, legal compliance, or explicitly configured product behavior;
  • generated reports and findings may be retained so they remain accessible to users, where applicable.

Where feasible, temporary analysis data may be deleted automatically after processing or within a limited retention window.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

These measures may include:

  • encryption in transit;
  • encryption at rest where supported by infrastructure providers;
  • access controls;
  • logging and monitoring;
  • environment and infrastructure safeguards;
  • least-privilege operational practices where appropriate.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data protection laws.

Where required, we take appropriate steps intended to provide lawful safeguards for international transfers of personal data.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:

  • access personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • object to certain processing;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • request portability of certain data;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

In addition, if you are located in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar rights, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.

To exercise applicable rights, contact us using the contact information below. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to operate the website and improve user experience.

We may also use limited analytics-related technologies to understand aggregate website usage and performance.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies unless explicitly stated otherwise.

You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings, though some website functionality may be affected.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by applicable law.

If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

14. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party providers for infrastructure, analytics, communications, or related functionality.

Those third parties may process certain information in accordance with their own privacy policies and contractual arrangements with us.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may post the updated version on our website and update the effective date above. Where appropriate, we may also provide additional notice.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy.
